Empowerment Program Thank-you Picnic

Objectives:
For March
To celebrate the womens commitment to their education
Provide a social event for the women to look forward to
Provide a cultural exchange between the women and volunteers
Reward the women for all their hard work

Summary:

On the 5th of March we arranged a picnic for all the women involved in our womens
empowerment program to celebrate their commitment and reward them for all their
hard work.

Report:
We had 40 women turn up to the
picnic. We set up a sandwich buffet
where the women used their
English language skills to order
what they would like in their
sandwiches. We all had lunch
together before a big Nepali dance
off where the women showed us
their skill. As it was the day before
the Holi festival (the festival of
colour) there was also some pre-
Holi celebrations! All in all it was a
fabulous day filled with lots of
laughter and fun!
The women were very thankful to
GVI for giving them the opportunity
to learn English and broaden their
skill sets. They have been
thoroughly enjoying the recent art
lessons!
