sentence.
A: Mrs. James Dillingham Young or Della- Jims wife, she spends a lot of
time lending up for Christmas
Mr. James Dillingham Young or Jim- husband of Della, he works hard
but still his salary is low.
Madame Sofronie- the owner of the hair shop.
2. Q: In five (5) sentences, write the plot summary of the story
A: Della has one dollar and eighty-seven cents but she has a problem
because on the other day was Christmas day but still she has no gift to
give on her husband Jim. Then she saw a broken glass on the window
then she goes nearer and cut her hair, after it she sell it and had a 20
dollars so she has already 21 dollars and 87 cents. She buy a watch
strap and go back to their house and wait for her husband. She is so
nervous while she is waiting and Jim came, instead of being angry, he
is surprised. Jim give his gift to Della and it is consist of expensive
combs for her hair, then Della also give her gift to Jim and he saw it but
Jim tell Della that keep it for the meantime because he sell his watch
just to buy those expensive combs.
3. Q: What did you learn from the story? Answer in five (5) sentences
A: I learned from the story is it is better to give than to receive.
Because if you give anything dont expect that the person that you
give the gift will return gift to you. In the story I learned the true
meaning of love. And the true meaning of it is that you will sacrifice
anything just to give the happiness for your loved ones. Even they
have no money to buy they will do anything just to pursue their wants.
