OPTION 1: IN-CLASS PERFORMANCE

If you wish to perform in class, your TA will give you a 3-note bass segment (e.g., 123). You must then
play the appropriate progression as shown abovewithout a written supplementwhile singing the bass
line.
As with Task Quiz 3, this option includes an assessment of peer performance. Once youve finished
playing/singing, you will stand aside while a classmate comes to the piano for their evaluation. Once theyve
played, you must decideby sight and/or soundwhether what they did was correct. If your assessment is
correct, you get to keep your original grade. If youre off, then your grade receives a minus. (So A
becomes A-, etc.)

OPTION 2: VIDEO SUBMISSION

If you like, you may submit a video instead of performing in class. In that case, you will play ALL FOUR
progressions, one after the other, in a single take. While you play, you must also sing the bass lines on scale
degrees.
