Creating and designing consistent instructional practices in whole group and small group reading
instruction. Supplementing curriculum with materials to meet Iowa Core Curriculum and Midland power
standards. Full implementation of the PLC process. Evaluating and using test scores such as MAP and DIBELS
and classroom data to drive instruction. Created common formative assessments that align with ELA and Math
standards. Through the Response to Intervention process we are able to identify students who are in need of
supplemental and intensive interventions, as well as challenging students through our ELP program.

Paton-Churdan/East Greene School Districts (2009-2011)


Title I Math, Middle School Science
As a Title I Math teacher, I worked with all of the elementary teachers to identify students needing more
assistance in Math. I would identify their deficits, create and implement individualized instruction, and
formatively assess students throughout the year. As a middle school Science teacher, I worked closely with the
HS Science teacher to vertically align the Science curriculum to maximize learning. Student Science scores
were all raised above the 40th percentile. I also coordinated and implemented our schools partipation in the
State Science Fair of Iowa based in Ames.

Midland School Improvement Advisory Committee

Gather input from staff, parents, business partners, and community members for the development of
school improvement plan, mission statement, and school vision
Review and examine school data
Collaborate to accomplish School Improvement Plan goals
Use data to make school instructional decisions and write School Improvement Plan
Work with all stakeholders on School Improvement Bond Issue (Spring 2015)
Helped to pilot Go Math curriculum prior to a purchase agreement

University of Northern Iowa All Iowa Educational Leadership Program


Recorded 461 hours of internship experience (178 elementary, 50 Special Education)
Internship experiences were focused around the 35 Iowa Administrative Standards
Experiences include: Staff professional development, preparing and executing a whole school
evacuation drill, ALICE and CPI training, interviewing and hiring of new teachers and support staff,
school facilities report, IEP meetings, activities supervision and support, student conduct issues, and
various other K-12 experiences.
Took on tasks delegated by the school principal.
This experience has helped me to bridge the gap between theory and practice, through real life, hands-on
activities.
