Hawthorn Academy 1st Grade IB Leadership Award Check Off

All goals must be completed by May 23th, 2016.


Goal
Required:
One 1-hour Service Project: Reflect, Choose and Act on a service project
in the community, school, neighborhood, or family. Think of a need,
choose to act and plan how you are going to help. Project must be
approved by Kristi Kunz (West Jordan) and Marie Steffensen (South
Jordan) before completed. After the service, a written reflection
(details given at approval meeting) will be turned in to Mrs. Kunz or
Mrs. Steffensen.
Complete 11 of the following 15 requirements:

IB LPT: Principled: Have no more than 3 tardies for the school year
IB LPT: Knowledgeable: Earn a 100% score on at least 15 spelling
tests
IB LPT: Communicator: Write and illustrate 2 original stories and
present 1 to the class
IB LPT: Principled: Be respectful and kind to others in the
classroom and during recess
IB LPT: Reflective: Choose one of the IB profiles and write 50 or
more words about it
IB LPT: Communicator: Bring a favorite story to read to the class
IB LPT: Knowledgeable: Know parents or guardians names,
phone number, and address
IB LPT: Thinker: Master all 70 phonograms oral and written
IB LPT: Open-Minded: Do a project to go along with any unit
completed in class (poster, diorama model, special report,
collage)
IB LPT: Risk-Taker: Participate in the Inspiration Program and
share the project with the class
IB LPT: Balanced: Twice a month participate in a physical activity
with your family
IB LPT: Thinker: Read grade level text at 70 WPM with 95-100%
accuracy
IB LPT: Knowledgeable: Identify a penny, a nickel, a dime, and a
quarter and be able to count change
IB LPT: Inquirer: Complete homework and return on time for 90%
of the time for entire year
IB LPT: Thinker: Read with automaticity approximately 100 high
frequency sight words
