The Coal firing system consists of separate raw coal feeder
connected to each mill. This raw coal feeder is of Gravimetric belt
type feeder with electronic weighing micro processor based
control system type.

OBJECTIVE
To commission the Coal Feeder and make it available for coal
firing of the boiler.

It is proposed to commission the feeders by putting the
equipments under 8 Hrs. trail run ( As per the normal operating
mode )

Mill Feeder gear box are filled with recommended lubricating oil
to the correct level.

The clean out couveyer gear box checked for lubrication / oil filled
to correct level.

Ffeeder drive motor & clean out couveyer motor checked for its
IR value and cleared for commissioning.

The feeder inlet manual gates are checked for their freeness and
the operation of full open / close limit swiches. The gates are kept
in fully closed condition before taking up the commissioning of the
feeder.

METHOD

Commissioning of Feeder
STATUS

Check the meggar value of motor and ensure that the value is
satisfactory.

Check that the weigh span rollers are properly aligned as per O &
M manual.
8.1.4
Check that the belt tension is adjusted as per the instuction given
in O & M manual.

Adjust the take up pulley at the rear side so that the belt runs
exactly at the center and doesnt deviate slowly to any one side.
When the belt slips to any one side, the corresponding sides
tension adjustment screw to be adjusted such a way that the belt
tightness increases in that side marginally.

Allow the feeder to run for 8 hr trial with belt running smoothly
without requiring any adjustment.

Start the clean out conveyer and run for four hour trail run.
