To Whom It May Concern:

It is with great pleasure and confidence that I highly recommend Tom

Andersons books and materials for use in classrooms and homes with
individuals with disabilities. I am well-acquainted with Toms skills and work ethic
and many times have sought him out for brainstorming and consulting when
presenting lessons in my classroom.
My name is Courtney Stringfellow and I have been a co-worker of Tom
Andersons for the last 9 years. I am an adapted curriculum EC Teacher working
with individuals with disabilities in grades K-2. I have also previously worked with
high school and middle school students and I have used material developed by
Tom in each of my classrooms.
Tom has a comprehensive understanding of the adapted curriculum and
how to motivate our students with special needs to work toward mastery of its
content. He engages them in unique ways through the use of adapted books,
poetry, humor, and games. I am inspired by the compassion he shows his
students and appreciative he shares these materials on an on going basis with
trusted colleagues.
Toms material cast a wide web over the skills that it targets and
introduces to the students/individuals. The material Tom makes focuses on
communication skills and expanding students knowledge of the world around
them. They are taught nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc in a way they can
understand. His material works on teaching literacy by using familiar settings and
occurrences that the students can relate to and experience. Individuals learn
functional skills through games that they can generalize and use in everyday
life.
Toms material is adapted to fit the needs of students with disabilities at all
levels. Regardless of the level or disability of the student or individual there is a
way for them to interact with material, answer questions and learn.
If you are looking for lessons that cover a wide range of skills, are adapted
in a variety of ways and can be used with multiple individuals then I would
recommend using any and all material that Tom has developed.
