The Real Reason Why

The Drought

California is currently 11 trillion gallons of water

short
It would take about 3 years to fill that shortage
It would take several consecutive wet winter to

bring back the amount of water we need

How did this happen?

Northern California has reduced there

water usage by 8%
Southern California has increased their
daily use of water
California has been continually
receiving less rainfall than needed

Whos fault?

Jerry Brown along with his colleagues have been slow to

react to the need for water in California, causing us to

dig ourselves into a deeper hole due to water shortage
The government has failed to build reservoirs and

damns to retain the water we need

Jerry Brown has poured billions of dollars into his high

speed rail way, when it should have been put into the
improvement of water retension during this drought

What are Smelt?

The Delta Smelt are three
inch long fish that are
extremely susceptible to
environmental conditions
These fish are currently
endangered
Jerry Brown has been
pumping over 150 billion
gallons of water out to the sea
to save this fish
The smelt are taking priority
over farmland

Solution

We need to be proactive before problems like this

happen
We need to make sure our government is

allocating our water properly

Make sure were letting the right people use water
