Letter of Recommendation:

Brennan Michalowski

Thinking. That extraordinary process we use every waking moment to make sense of our
world, can be incredible to observe in an exceptionally creative learner. Brennan develops
ideas that are unique, useful, and organized. This thinking critically not only appears when
she analyzes texts and information, but as she transforms (synthesizes) the particles into
creative substance. The reader/audience approaches the piece as a harmony of paint,
objects, and words, competing to stimulate and translate the distinctive juxtaposition
Brennan devises for our own thought processes to expand.

In addition, her openness to new ideas and different viewpoints, creates a person of amazing
flexibility that can/does change or modify her thoughts in the light of new information,
situations, or insights. Brennan continually reflects on her own reasoning and decisions. Her
thirst and passion for understanding issues within gender studies is the focus for college
selection, including the ranges of courses offered, opportunities to study abroad, and the
ability to utilize her intellect within the university community.

Brennan Michalowski mirrors Prousts quote, The real voyage of discovery consists not in
seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.
