NOTE: The license and password for GiD version 12 is not

compatible with old versions.

*Obtaining GiD password
The first time GiD is open, it appears a window to ask
the password. To obtain it there are two possibilities:
- From the GiD home page (http://www.gidhome.com),
Permanent password:
go to the password section and apply for a permanent
password for the 12 version.
Some information must be supplied:
-.The license obtained after purchasing GiD,
-.All data contained in the GiD's password window.
The password will be immediately displayed.
Temporary one month password:
-.The license in not required
-.All data contained in the GiD's password window.
The password will be immediately displayed.
- Send one mail or fax to us with your personal license
number and with all the information given by the GiD's
password window to:

Another possibility is not to enter a password and press
the 'academic' button. GiD will work with the following
restrictions:
Academic Version of GiD is completely functional but
meshes are limited to about 1000 nodes.
The Academic Version can be download and used for free.
Note: It is possible to enter the password later by
applying the register option in the help menu.
