OBJECTIVE:

Increase the security level to prevent an unauthorized unlocking of door.

Gives the flexibility to the user to change or reset the password in case the
user forgets that combination.

Locks the door by using the password.

To give the user more secure yet cost-efficient way of door locking system.
ABSTRACT
• In this project we propose a smart door locking system. A smart door lock system is an equipment that
uses the digital information such as a secret code, semi-conductors, smart card and fingerprints as the
method for authentication instead of the legacy key system. In our proposed system we have used the
microcontroller Arduino uno for performing the smart door lock operation. The password is set on the
Arduino code before uploading it on the Arduino board. Once the person is less than 25 cm from the
door, the Arduino board gets activated and the LCD display will ask you for the password, The person
has to press the 4 digit correct pin number on the 4x4 keypad. If the pin matches with the correct
password, the Arduino will turn the servo motor on and the door gets unlocked with green LED on
along with the message on the LCD display “Verified”. The program is designed in such a way that the
door gets automatically locked after 7 seconds with red LED on.
COMPONENTS USED:
• 1. Arduino UNO
• 2. 4X4 Keypad
• 3.Micro Servo Motor
• 4. 16X2 LCD Display
• 5. Ultrasonic Sensor
• 6. 10K Potentiometer
• 7. 220ohm Resistor
• 8. Green and red LED
• 9. Breadboard
• 10. Jumper wires

CIRCUIT DESIGN:
EXPECTED OUTCOME

• Once the person is close to the door(<25cm), the Arduino board gets
activated and it ask you for the PIN.

• If the person enters the correct password, the Arduino will turn the
servo motor on and the door gets unlocked with green LED on along
with the message on the LCD display “Verified”.

• The door gets automatically locked after 7 seconds with red LED on.
FUTURE SCOPE:

• We can send this data to a remote location using mobile or

internet

• We can add fingerprint sensor so entry will be allowed for

the authorized person using their fingerprints

• We can add fire, wind and LPG sensors so that in case of

accident, the doors will automatically open
