Absence Policy:
I realize I must notify my coach at least 1 WEEK in advance of missing any practice or
game with prior knowledge of that event. An email by a parent/guardian and/or student
is required.
EXCUSED ABSENCES:
After school extra help with a note from the
teacher
Death in the family
Illness
Doctors appointment (with written note from
doctor)
College visit
If there are extenuating circumstances, players
can meet with coaches to discuss, and decisions
can be made on a personal basis
UNEXCUSED ABSENCES:
No note from parent or guardian following an
absence
Detention or suspension from school
Late to practice or game without a pass from a
teacher
Not notifying a coach of a potential absence
(breaking the contract)
Being asked to leave practice for nonsportsmanlike actions (foul language, mocking)
Not attending games/practices for another
team
Any unexcused absences during the season are not acceptable and may result in the following:
Automatic game suspension and possible dismissal from the team.
Missing practice prior to a game as a result of an unexcused absence (and excused
absences in certain circumstances) will result in my not being eligible to play in the game(s).
If I am present in school, but absent from practice without being excused by my coach prior
to practice, the result will be a suspension.
More than 1 unexcused absence may result in dismissal from the team.
I am aware that I must be in school for a half day to be eligible to participate in practice or games.
Anytime I am late to school, need an early dismissal, etc. I will have appropriate documentation for
the attendance office and for my coach.
If I am absent from school, myself or my parent or guardian will notify the appropriate coach by email
before noon.

Coach Anthony (Frosh)
I realize that the coaches are designing practice so that our team might better meet its goals. I
realize that suggestions and corrections made are not to be taken personally, but should be accepted
as a way in which the team and I might improve.
I realize that to become a better player and athlete, I must continually work hard every day during
practice. My goal is to make the program better with my actions each and every day.
I understand that the concept of trust is an important one to the formation, maintenance, and
excellence of a team. If I have a problem, I will personally address my captains and/or coaches. I will
discuss issues with the coaches prior to my parents/guardians contacting them.
It is a privilege to be a member of the soccer program. I have read and agree to the West Girls
Soccer Contract.
