Objectives

The purpose of the program is to formally acquaint the student to a real life workplace environment which
would help him/her in understanding the relationship between the knowledge and skills acquired in
college with those required in the work field. It also aimed in helping the student develop the value of
professionalism and commitment to the people they work for.
Summary of Activities
During the monthlong training, the tasks given to the student included: (1) preparing and consolidating
the policyholders' summary of premiums using MS Excel; (2) determining the status of each of the
insurance policies whether they are still in force, have already lapsed due to nonpayment of premiums, or
have been terminated or have matured; and (3) attending a series of seminars to educate the student about
the many aspects of a life insurance policy and primarily to provide further understanding of the
insurance industry. These seminars talked about the foundations of life insurance, fundamentals of
investing, variable life funds, calculations and pricing methods of insurance policies, and evaluation of a
life insurance application which covers the assessment of risk factors in insurance.
Accomplishments
The trainee was subjected to the real work environment and therefore was able to familiarize herself with
the work proper and develop the necessary skills needed in actual work. Furthermore, the trainee was
also able to meet the demands of her supervisor and most importantly has developed good human
relations with the people in the workplace. Hence, the student was able to accomplish and comply to the
training objectives mentioned earlier.
Conclusion
The training had enabled the student to deal with real life work experiences in an environment filled with
professionals and notable individuals in the insurance industry. This on -the-job training is indeed a
powerful tool in helping the students achieve their maximum potentials most especially in their chosen
fields. More so, this OJT is an opportunity for companies to know and train students who shall be deemed
capable of the real life work. Thus, I believe that this requirement be continually pursued for all students
whatever field they may be in.
