14. Identify social policy at the local, state and federal
level that impacts well-being, service delivery, and
access to social services.
Task : the SJOP mission is to deliver care to all residents
with dignity, respect and Christian values. The facility
serves the poor and underprivileged as a main goal.
How I will measure: Review the SJOP Mission statement,
Core values, policy and procedure standards on selfaudits and annual audits; as well as outside audits to
assure the highest ethical and moral standards for the
clients/residents.

BEHAVIOR
15. Assess how social welfare and economic policies
impact the delivery of and access to social services.
Task: Work with assigned case presentation resident to
gain insight into health his health history and personal
journey.
How I will measure: Establish rapport, journal, ask openended, predetermined questions for case
presentation; yet let the resident control the
conversation as much as possible due to enjoyment of
having visitors ( but having few except from within the
facility). Resident agrees to allow me to interview him
for my case presentation project.

BEHAVIOR
16.Apply critical thinking to analyze, formulate,
and advocate for policies that advance human
rights and social, economic, and environmental
justice.
Task: Utilize knowledge of SJOP continuum of care
for residents of all social status and their work
with the governing agencies of the state of N.C.
How I will measure: Discuss with the VP of home
and Community Based Services, Social Policy
class, weekly competency, peer review,
supervisor discussion.
