1- What is CO 2 analysis from ammonia plant and what is the co2 purity and other

contents including some sulphur, moisture contents ,H2 contents . please give
complete analysis ?

This is the complete analysis of CO2 stream from Ammnia Unit, and water content
in the form of saturated :

2- Is the material of labyrinth is compatible and whether you find the


excessive corrosion I mean ist stage suction ,second stage discharge or other
stages ?
3- Is this problem is common at all stages of co2 compressor?
- We found the corrosion of lybarinth seal between 3rd stage and 4th stage is
highest.

4-what is the failure frequency of labyrinth ?


5- is separator of co2 compressor are working well and have you ever inspected mesh
and thickness of mesh pads of each separator . Any cleaning done or any material
removed was analyzed?

we are suspecting about ability to work of separators, especial separator S06121.

6- what is analysis of drain water from all separator , like carbonate , bi carbonates
iron contents
- we are trying to analyze.
7- what about the material of piping ist and second suction of co2 lines? Did you
observe any scale formation inside the piping and co2 ist and second stage casing.

The the material of piping ist and second suction of co2 lines are Stanless steel
( ANSI 304), and we havent observed any scale formation inside the piping and
co2 ist and second stage casing.

8- What solution is being used at ammonia plant for absorber/stripper ? Benfield or


any other system

In Ammonia Unit, MDEA is used to absorb CO2,

9- Any abnormality in suction and discharge temperature/pressure at each stage .

The temperature/pressure at 1st, 2nd are normal, but temperature and pressure at 3rd
stage discharge are abnormality. Before the major maintenance in August 2015,
pressure at 3rd stage discharge increases to critical value while temperatute at 3rd
stage discharge drops deep.

In the major maintenance Aug 2015, we have opened the entire CO2 compressor
and found out the corrosion of labyrinth seal between 3rd and 4th stage.

We have replaced the corroded labyrinth seal but the pressure at 3rd stage
discharge has tended to increase. Until now we have not found a reason why.

10- Any filter for sealing gas and its mesh pressure drop across the filter . what is
change over frequency . past history and physical condition . moreover what is size if
filter mesh (micron?)

we do not detect any abnormality.
