1. OUR FRIENDLY LITTLE FLIRTYFISHY was s m i l i n g s w e e t l y a t a l l

the handsome w a i t e r s as u s u a l ,
when one i n p a r t i c u l a r apparently
took a fancy t o her and decided t o
b r i n g h e r h e r b r e a k f a s t i n bed one
morning! Since we were a l i t t l e
short o f money and hadn't been t i p ping very much, I encouraged our
l i t t l e Flirty-Fishy to show him a
l i t t l e extra affection, a l i t t l e
pat on the hand or squeeze of the
arm or peck on the cheek as his
reward, showing appreciation worth
a great deal more than money!
2. SO ON THIS PARTICULAR MORNING
as she was u s h e r i n g him t o t h e door
she l i g h t l y put h e r arm around him
to give him a l i t t l e squeeze w h i l e
d e c i d i n g whether t o a l s o add a peck
on t h e cheek, when he suddenly
s o l v e d t h e problem f o r h e r by g r a b bing h e r e a g e r l y and s t a r t i n g t o
deep-kiss her while fervently rubbing h i s hardening you-know-what
a g a i n s t h e r s o f t e n i n g you-know-what!
3 . A LITTLE FLUSTERED BY THIS
.SURPRISE ATTACK, she simply y i e l d e d
for a moment, then began t o g e n t l y
try t o g e t him t o cease and d e s i s t
by s w e e t l y pushing him from h e r ,
s a y i n g , "No, no!", and p o i n t i n g t o
her cheek i n s t e a d .
But t o t h i s h e
r e p l i e d , "Yes, y e s ! " , and c o n t i n u e d
to persist in trying to kiss her on
the mouth. while she continued to
present her cheek. This however
didn't seem to interest him, so he
finally l e f t without further ado.

him a cheek, considering he'd already proved himself a little too

cheeky, so she apparently decided
to teach him a lesson!
6. BUT THIS SUDDEN CHANGE of t a c t i c s from deep k i s s and ardent embrace to no k i s s and no embrace
within 48 hours evidently backfired,
as i t seemed to deeply hurt our
s e n s i t i v e Aquarian w a i t e r ' s tender
f e e l i n g s to such an e x t e n t that i t
so cooled the r e l a t i o n s h i p that i t
caused our l i t t l e F l i r t y - F i s h y to
r e l e n t and f e e l very sorry for him.
7. SO SHE SQUIRMED UNCOMFORTABLY
i n t h e new c h i l l y atmosphere o f

warned by t h e fisherman t h a t i t ' s
always safer for the bait to s t a l l ,
postpone and say, "Not nowmaybe
later". or "Wait", or " I ' l l see",
so as to keep the fish interested
but not lose him entirely, but also
so as not to yield too easily and
get gobbled up too soon!
8. HE MIGHT NOT APPRECIATE WHAT

But i n t h e case of a f l a t

2 3 . EVERY BAIT MUST BE PREPARED
TO BE SWALLOWED ENTIRELY i f n e c e s s a r y , i n o r d e r t o g e t t h e hook
i n good and deep, y e t hope t o s t i l l
be r e s c u e d by t h e fisherman i f
possible.
Sometimes you have t o
put a l o t in_ t o g e t some o u t , so

REALLY OWE YOU SOMETHING and t h a t

y o u ' v e g i v e n them a l l you c a n p o s -

sibly give them, and that there is

nothing they can possibly do to repay you other than giving themselves
to you in return! Kings and Queens
are particularly like t h i s , and this
kind of bait is often one of the
things they need the most. If you
can give i t to them, i t may win
them forever!
28. BUT ONCE HOOKED IN THIS WAY.

YOU CAN'T JUST LOVE 'EM AND LEAVE

'EM! Y o u ' r e p r o b a b l y going t o have
don't be afraid to put them in_ if
t o g i v e them more on o c c a s i o n , as
you have to! Just be sure you do
the s i t u a t i o n may w a r r a n t , i n o r d e r
i t with a lot of prayer, faith and
t o keep them on t h e l i n e !
Caught
f i s h have t o be fed t o keep them
real trust in God that you won't
suffer any undesirable consequences! a l i v e , so you may have t o l e t them
keep d i g g i n g a l i t t l e now and then
24. FISHING CAN BE DANGEROUS,
f o r something t h e y know they need,
unless you really trust the Lord
i f y o u ' r e going t o be able t o use
and are led by Him! However, of
them f o r what you know you need,
course, i t has i t s brighter side,

for a fish t h a t ' s swallowed the

bait, hook and a l l , is usually more
firmly hooked and more solidly on
the line than those that are just
nibbling around!
25. SO GETTING OFTEN SWALLOWED IS

without letting them lose interest.

29. FOR ONCE THEY'VE DEVELOPED

AN APPETITE FOR YOUR KIND OF BAIT,

THEY MAY GET THE HABIT and i t w o n ' t
be j u s t a o n e - t i m e t h i n g !
You may

be able to s t a l l them a l i t t l e and

ward them off a while, but "hope
finally unrewarded maketh the heart
sick" (Pr 13:12), so you may have
ultimate in our kind of fishing,
to keep letting them have another
and you may find your l i t t l e joymaker is that last l i t t l e ditch that bite now and then in order to keep

they really want to dig the most!
So you'd better be prepared to l e t

them dig i t , or you may find t h e y ' l l BEING FLIRTY-FISH BAIT IS SERIOUS

BUSINESS! I f y o u ' r e n o t i n i t t o
26. BUT ONCE THEY'VE REALLY DUG
r e a l l y c a t c h f i s h and keep them and
WHAT THIS KIND OF FISHING IS ALL
ABOUT! For i t ' s t h e l a s t - d i t c h

YOU, "THE BORROWER IS SERVANT TO

THE LENDER" (Pr 2 2 : 7 ) and t h e y a r e
f o r e v e r i n your d e b t ! You've given
them something t h e y can n e v e r repay
and f o r which they s h o u l d f e e l f o r -

use them and make them u s e f u l t o

t h e Fisherman, then y o u ' d b e t t e r
s t a y o u t of i t and p u r s u e some l e s s
h a z a r d o u s o c c u p a t i o n ! But i f y o u ' r e
dead i n e a r n e s t about i t , you can

"THE ADVENTURES OF A FLIRTY FISH!" - MO

find i t one of t h e most t h r i l l i n g
and e x c i t i n g and f a s c i n a t i n g and
rewarding of a l l o c c u p a t i o n s ! As
Jesus s a i d t o some fishermen who
understood Him,
31. "COME, FOLLOW ME, AND I WILL
MAKE YOU FISHERS OF MEN! And immed i a t e l y they forsook a l l and f o l lowed Him!" I f y o u ' r e n o t w i l l i n g
from t h e b e g i n n i n g t o f o r s a k e y o u r
a l l and follow Him a l l t h e way and
become a r e a l f i s h e r o f men, t h e n
you might as w e l l go back t o your
k n i t t i n g , because t h i s thing can
get p r e t t y hairy when you f i n a l l y
get them down t o the n i t t y - g r i t t y !
32. SO IF YOU CAN'T TAKE IT,
DON'T TRY IT! Like a l o t of f i s h ing, i t ' s often an a l l - n i g h t operation or an all-weekend outing t o
make an inning! Or he may want t o
take off with you forever, and
you've got to learn how to keep
s t e e r i n g him back i n t o the F i s h e r man's net or l u r i n g him back to the
trap or keeping him firmly hooked
on the l i n e i f h e ' s ever going t o
do anyone e l s e any good besides you!
33. IF YOU'RE A HOOKER FOR JESUS,
DON'T FORGET WHO YOU'RE HOOKING
FOR and d o n ' t f o r g e t t o c o n s t a n t l y
p o i n t your hook i n H i s d i r e c t i o n !
Then t h e y ' l l know why y o u ' r e
doing i t and Who y o u ' r e doing i t
for and why y o u ' r e w i l l i n g t o g i v e
your a l l and s a c r i f i c e y o u r s e l f t h a t
they may l i v e !
34. YOU'D BETTER LET THEM UNDERSTAND FROM THE BEGINNING t h a t t h e
reason you love them so much t h a t
y o u ' r e w i l l i n g to give them e v e r y t h i n g i s because God loves them so
much and e x p e c t s them t o give Him
everything in return!
35. WE'RE NOT IN THE BUSINESS OF
GIVING AWAY FREE BAIT a n d f r e e
bites with no strings attached!
The fishing business costs something, and we expect to get some
good catches in return if we're
going to make i t pay! Otherwise
you're just throwing i t away! If

31/3/74

LTO NO. 532 Page 4

you lose too much b a i t without catching any in r e t u r n , you may soon find
yourself bankrupt and out of b u s i ness !
36. FISHING CAN BE FUN. BUT FUN
DOESN'T PAY THE BILLS! You've got
to catch a few t o make the fun pay
for i t s e l f !
So d o n ' t do i t for
nothing! We're not in i t for t h e
money but we are in i t for t h e men!
If we d o n ' t catch some p r e t t y good
fish as a r e s u l t , including everything they've got and can jio for
us, you're j u s t wasting your time
and your t a i l !
37. IF YOU'RE NOT WILLING TO LET
HIM HAVE A PIECE OF YOUR TAIL, you'd
b e t t e r not swish i t around so close
to h i s sharp t e e t h , or you may find
h e ' s dug in before you know i t ! If
you're not prepared to l e t them
have a piece of t h a t p r e t t y l i t t l e
flirty t a i l in the end, after all
the l i t t l e tickles and nibbles
you've been giving him, then you'd
better start out with a resounding
swat of a strong right fin on that
nibbler's snout at the very first
nibble in order to shoo him away
for good before he goes so far
neither one of you can stop!
38. IF THAT'S THE WAY YOU FEEL
ABOUT IT. YOU'D BETTER NOT EVEN
GIVE HIM THE FIRST NIBBLE! In f a c t ,
you'd b e t t e r n o t g e t i n t o t h e n i b b l i n g b u s i n e s s a t a l l ! Being
F l i r t y - F i s h b a i t i s not f o r you

39. SHE'D LED THIS POOR FISH ON

the fisherman and had l e d him so

when she saw how deeply h u r t he
was a t h e r sudden withdrawal of

was working i t so hard against her
she was a f r a i d he was going t o do
i t r i g h t t h e r e , while I l e f t them
alone and s t r o l l e d toward the
lobby as though I d i d n ' t know what
was going onor perhaps I should
s a y , more as though I did know what
was going on!
5 0 . HE PUT HIS HAND ON HERS AND
HER HAND ON HIS and began an ardent
sexual massage, i n s i s t e n t l y
trying
to make her promise s h e ' d make a
d e f i n i t e date for breakfast i n the
morning, which was apparently t o
include a healthy a p p e t i s e r !
The
more noncommittal she was, the more
desperate he became and the more
ardently he massaged, u n t i l she
f i n a l l y had to break away with a
f i n a l k i s s and a hurried "Goodn i g h t ! " as she ran back toward the
hotel!
51. WHEN WE GOT BACK TO OUR ROOM
SHE'D ALREADY BEGUN TO WORRY a b o u t
t h e n e x t m o r n i n g , and had a b o u t
decided she d i d n ' t want to be a
F l i r t y - F i s h any more, as she massaged me_ to s l e e p !
During a r e s t l e s s night I reassured her she
didn't have to do anything she
didn't want to do, and that the
Lord would lead her how to handle
the s i t u a t i o n .
5 2 . BUT I DID CAUTION HER THAT HE
HAD BEEN DEEPLY HURT, and I d i d n ' t
think anything short of f u l f i l l i n g
h i s d e s i r e s would r e s t o r e our
friendship.
We also agreed that
he'd e v i d e n t l y had some heartbreak.
I a l s o got during the night t h a t :
"He thinks nobody loves him any
more. He's a l i t t l e c y n i c a l and
b i t t e r and thought there was no
more love u n t i l you showed him l o v e .
5 3 . SHOW HIM THE LOVE OF GOD!
Show him God's l o v e i s b e t t e r than
the l o v e o f women! You're the f i r s t
t o show him l o v e s i n c e h e ' s been
hurt.
He's been very h u r t .
He's
a poor, hurt l i t t l e lamb, and h e ' s
come to you f o r h e l p .
Are you
w i l l i n g t o h e l p him?

And I got the
verse,

UNTO THE LEAST OF THESE MY BRETHREN, YE HAVE DONE IT UNTO ME."
(Mt 2 5 : 4 5 . ) E v e n unto the l o w l i e s t !
So we went back t o s l e e p , a g r e e i n g
