Disheartening comments of leaders of present era

in Assam politics
Sir, - After the debacle of the congress party in the last Lok
Sabha elections in India the behavior of some of the congress
MLAs of Assam is not at all expected by the general public.
Some of the remarks of the CM might have caused
embarrassment to many of them and dissatisfaction among
the electorates of Assam but in such critical juncture the
colleagues of the Chief Minister should have jumped into the
election areas defending their leader even by going to the
public tendering apology on behalf of the Chief Minister and
advising the Chief Minister to do the same. But we have not
seen such team spirit in the Congress party. Instead some of
the disgruntled first timer legislative members went to the
extent of attacking some of the senior leader like Sri Anjan
Dutta for his educational qualifications which appears to be
unpalatable for many of us. Such young MLAs should have
behaved the in a respectable way to these senior leaders.
Educational qualification is but a small part in the life of a
political leader. It is his wisdom, knowledge and public behavior
which is more important. The history of almost all political
parties show that more importance is given to his dedication,
experience, knowledge and ability to guide the public than
school or University qualification. Late K Kamraj Nadar, Gyani
Zail Singh and many national and state leaders had very little
school but they could guide the party as well the nation. Mere
paper qualification which fails to streamline our behavior,
character, enhance our knowledge is no qualification. We
should remember knowledge is not encompassed only in the
books or encompassed in a degree but in the whole universe.
Mahapurush Shankardeva had no schooling but he was wise
having vast knowledge. Therefore college education is not a
thing to be boast of.
