Directions:
Choose one of the following ideas from the list below and complete the
task by the assigned due date.

Post-TestIdeas:
1. MemoryBox:
create a memory box for Ben that includes at least five items and
present it to the class. Write one-two paragraphs for each item you choose,
explaining how these items are important to the story.
2. Diorama:
construct a diorama (3-D scene which includes miniature models of
people, landmarks, animals, etc.) of an important scene in the novel. Include a
one-page written explanation of the scene.
3. Mural:
create a mural (no smaller than 11 x 17) that includes scenes, people,
symbols, and events from the novel. Be sure to tie the images together with
some kind of theme or pattern. Write a one-page description of your mural.
4. Timeline/Map:
create an illustrated timeline showing important events from
the novel and draw a map of the Oregon Trail, showing important locations in
the novel. Write one-two paragraphs describing each of the events and
locations.
5. Sequel:
Write the chapter that occurs three years after the novel ends. Be sure to
write in the authors style and include information about at least three
characters.
6. Writediaryentries
that one of the novels supporting characters might have
written before, during, and after the storys events. Remember to include the
characters thoughts and feelings.
7. Writeandperformanoriginalsong
that tells the story of the novel. Write a
separate, one-page explanation of how the song relates to the novel.
