Anchor Activity 1

Pamphlet
Description:
You will be creating a How-to pamphlet to introduce the
basic laws of that could be given out to someone who
is new to the concepts.

You can create this pamphlet by hand or by computer. It should


be visually organized and appealing.

Any questions about this anchor project can be posted on our


Post-It wall and I will address it accordingly.

Topics to include:

what is prohibited to do
how to eat at the same table
the status of salt shakers and bread knives
how to label your kitchen
how long to wait in between milk then meat/meat then milk
food cooked in a fleishig pot
meat around non-jews, -nannies at home

Supplies: Stock paper or construction paper, markers or colored crayons,


ruler and Halacha notes. Alternatively; computer and Halacha notes.

Anchor Activity 2

In Todays World
Description:
You will be researching a modern-day problem, and
summarizing how kashrut organizations deal with the problem.
Examples: Single-sinks, using dishwashers, dairy factory with
parve product, hours to wait after cheesecake, etc.

You can use seforim like The ' Book, The Shabbos
Kitchen, The Radiance of Shabbos, etc, or research online
through different kashrut websites such as www.star-k.org,
www.cor.ca or www.oukosher.org.

The problem and solution should be laid out with proper


headers and paragraphs describing the problem, solution, and
opinions surrounding the solution. Diagrams and pictures help
make it easier for the reader to understand.

Supplies: Paper and pen. Halacha notes, seforim, computer with Internet
access.
