As far as safety is concerned customers get crossed cheque for the transaction. As we know
crossed cheque cannot be encased from the counter, rather it has to be collected through banking
channel i.e. clearing. For example, a client of Bank Asia received a cheque of another bank,
which is located within the clearing range; deposit the cheque in his account at Bank Asia. Now
Bank Asia will credit his account and collected it. Though the amount is credited in the
customers account but he will not get the money until he cheque is honored.

Everyday morning I have gone to the cash counter and have collected all the cheque. Then I have
sorted out high value and low value cheque. Above taka 500,000 are high value cheque and
below taka 499,999 are the low value cheque. High value cheque were processed after 3 pm in
the afternoon and the low value cheque were processed after 5 pm in the afternoon. After
collecting the cheque I have given endorsement seal on the cheque. For example on high value
cheque the given seal is same day clearing and on low value cheque the seal is only clearing
with date in the backside of the cheque. Below the clearing seal I have given another seal that is
Page 16

payees A/C credited for Bank Asia Ltd. Lalmatia Branch. And if the cheque is mentioned with
the name of Bank Asia Ltd then I have given the seal that is received payment for Bank Asia
Ltd. Lalmatia Branch. And if the client had mentioned client name and the bank name both then
I have given the seal payees account credited and received payment for Bank Asia Ltd.
Lalmatia Branch. In the front left side of the cheque I have used the seal which was Bank Asia
Ltd. Lalmatia Branch. After using all the seals I have forwarded the cheque to the authorized
official for signing them and then made all the cheque scanned in STELAR. After input of the
scanned copies of cheque I have made the entries of deposit account number and amount of the
cheque and closed STELAR. For final confirmation I have again logged in the STELAR and
rechecked all the entries and sent it to head office which is to be sent to Bangladesh Bank by
Head office. If there is any problem like insufficient balance the next day that cheque is returned
from Bangladesh Bank. And next day I have replaced the date of that day with a seal that is
alteration of clearing date confirmed and have sent it to the second house through the STELAR.
For further inconvenience I have sent the cheque to third house. A cheque can be sent to house a
maximum of three times. Exceeding this limit will cause the cancellation of the cheque.

directly or indirectly transaction AD branch this is problem for branch.
When a client try to open an A/C he/she must have to need an introducer, sometime it may
create a problems for the clients. Anyone can not open account due to lacking documents

The internship program is a partial requirement to take test of real life challenge conducted by
the intern who related BBA program with academic course, book knowledge in job world,
reports make by the organization way with data gathering. So in my opinion in our BBA
Program university should add international business and Customer service and relationship
development in core subject that interconnects international business as import and exports and
also develop better relationship with the customer. The banking internship gives opportunities to
gain practical knowledge etc.
