Introduction
Grilling has existed in the Americans since pre-colonial. The Arawak people of
South America roasted meat on a wooden structure called a barbacoa in Spanish.
For centuries, the term barbacoa referred to the wooden structure and not the act of

grilling, but it was eventually modified to "barbeque.

It was also applied to pi-style cooking techniques now frequently used in the South
Eastern United States.
Barbeque was originally used to slow-cooks hogs however, different ways of preparing
food led to regional variations.
E.G Kingsford invented the modern charcoal briquette. Kingsford was a relative of
henry ford.
Ford assigned Kingsford the task of establishing a ford auto parts plant and saw mill
in northern Michigan, a challenge that Kingsford embraced. The local
community
swelled and was named Kingsford in his honor. Kingsford noticed that fords model
production lines were generating a large amount of wood scraps that were
being
discarded. Kingsford suggested to ford that a charcoal manufacturing facility be
established next to the assembly line to process and sell charcoal under the ford name
in ford leaderships.
Several years after Kingsfords death, the chemical company was sold the local
business man and renamed the Kingsford chemical company.

Background of the study

A solar heated grill is made from card board box, tin foil and poster board
sunlight hits the reflective surface and focuses on the holding in the center, student can
work in pairs or individually if there are enough materials.
This study aimed to find out if an cardboard and a thick thin foil can be converted
to a more useful piece of cooking equipment. The cardboard box was cut and shaped. The
tin foil is settled in the middle making it looks like a slide. We go outside in the heat of
the sun. the barbeque stick were placed in the spot where reflection of the sun light
focused on the hotdog.
The researches conduct this study because in this process we can save more
like money because its cheaper and energy because the study just get energy from the
sun. we made this to save more money and energy that we pay and it is not harmful to our
body because other grill used charcoals that harm our lungs because of its smoke.

Statement of the problem

1. Is it advisable for people to use in many times?
2. Is our solar grills cheaper than the commercial one?
3. Is it more effective to use than the branded grill?

Significance of the study

Us, we will benefit it, the mother earth also. As you can see we are living in a
polluted country, the smoke that comes out from the branded ones. If we will; use the
solar heated grill we can save mother earth and prevent this problem about pollution.
The ozone layer of our planet was getting thinner because of pollution. In using solar
heated grill there was no smoke that comes out. We can save money also, we al know
that the branded one was expensive than our solar heated grill.

Scope and limitation of the study

The Science Investigatory Project was conducted from the month of
December 2014 to the half of the month of February 2015.

Hot Dogs rank right up there Hamburgers as the favorite summer food. However,
while people can take a homemade hamburger seriously, the hot dog tends to be
something inexpensive and flavorless. It's for this reason that I don't generally like
hotdogs. I prefer something better in the grill. This is why it's better to put a sausage in
the grill rather than those expensive fast food hot dogs. If you happen to be one of the
world's 2 billion people who don't eat pork you are in luck. There are a lot of hot dog
variations out there that are as good as the original. Sausages made from turkey, beef,
chicken are loaded with flavors and in some instances superior to their pork counterparts.
You can usually find these available in local health food stores or specialty meat markets.
There are probably as many ways to top off a hot dog as there are ways to top of a
hamburger. You top your dog in this order: yellow mustard, relish, onions, tomatoes,
pickles, peppers, and celery salt. I like a hot and spicy mustard. And few things can make
a meal out of a hot dog like a heavy dose of chili. However you like your hot dogs start
out with a good dog and you'll get something no one can refuse.
A solar cooker is a device which uses the energy of direct sunlight to heat, cook or
pasteurize food or drink. Many solar cookers presently in use are relatively inexpensive,
low-tech devices, although some are as powerful or as expensive as traditional stoves,
and advanced, large-scale solar cookers can cook for hundreds of people. Because they
use no fuel and cost nothing to operate, many nonprofit organizations are promoting their
use worldwide in order to help reduce fuel costs (especially where monetary reciprocity

is low) and air pollution, and to slow down the deforestation and desertification caused
by gathering firewood for cooking. Solar cooking is a form of outdoor cooking and is
often used in situations where minimal fuel consumption is important, or the danger of
accidental fires is high, and the health and environmental consequences of alternatives
are severe. Solar energy is radiant light and heat from the Sun harnessed using a range of
ever-evolving technologies such as solar heating, photovoltaic, solar thermal energy, solar
architecture and artificial photosynthesis. It is an important source of renewable energy
and its technologies are broadly characterized as either passive solar or active solar
depending on the way they capture and distribute solar energy or convert it into solar
power. Active solar techniques include the use of photovoltaic systems, concentrated
solar power and solar water heating to harness the energy. Passive solar techniques
include orienting a building to the Sun, selecting materials with favourable thermal mass
or light dispersing properties, and designing spaces that naturally circulate air. A hot dog
(also spelled hotdog) is a cooked sausage, traditionally grilled or steamed and served in a
sliced bun.[2][3][4][5] Hot dog variants include the corn dog and pigs in blankets.
Typical hot dog garnishes include mustard, ketchup, onions, mayonnaise, relish, cheese,
chili, and sauerkraut.

Solar heated grill

Cuttin

Solar heated grill starts at preparing materials like shoe box, tape, cutter and foil.
Then follow the following procedures then it will show the finish product. This can
help people that have no things to make food or to cook. By doing the steps you
can have your own solar heated grill.
Assemblin

Definition of Terms
Durability- staying strong and in good condition over a long period of time.
Efficiency- the ability to do something or produce something without wasting materials,
time or
energy.
Solar- produced by using the suns light or heat.
Ultraviolet Ray- used to describe rays of light that cannot be seen.
Usefulness- the quality of having utility and especially practical worth or applicability.
Hotdog - A commonly-used (but etymologically obscure) term for a sausage that is
usually eaten in a bun with ketchup, mustard, and/or relish.
Grill - .Outdoor cooking appliance .To cook food above charcoal, gas or other means of
heat. (typically outside) .
Tin Foil - A wrapping substance to keep food fresh.
Skewer - is a thin metal or wood stick used to hold pieces of food together. They are used
while grilling or roasting meats, and in other culinary applications.

Methodology
This product is composed of shoe box or cardboard, masking tape, stick
and aluminium foil.

Select a long narrow box; the longer the box the more heat collection is
possible. One template could be use for all the cookers. Trace the curve on the open end
of the box so that it is centered and straight.
Cut out the curve with a cutter. Stress the importance of being exact.
Measure and cut a piece of aluminium foil that will fix against the opening to the box.
Attach this with tape beginning at the center and working toward to edges.
Cover the curve by aluminium foil then put masking tape around. Start in
the middle and smooth toward the edges. Try not to wrinkle or fold the foil; you want it
as smooth as possible.
Use two scraps of cardboard taped to each side as supports. Make a hole
for the skewer. Then u have now solar heated grill.

This Pie Graph shows that the survey of solar heated grill. This graph
shows that solar heated grill is not good in Durability but almost good in efficiency and
usefulness. In our terms students want us to have more Durability to use it often.

Findings

According to our study, we found that it is more efficient to use it for campers.
Its easier to use it if its sunny. It is a success when its sunny or in summer. The heater
the sun the more effective to cook faster and the long box it can get more heat.

Conclusion

The researcher therefore conclude that the solar heated grill is more cheaper than
the commercial ones and it cant produce polluted air and it is economical since we live
in a tropical country. The materials are not expensive. Produce hotdog is the same as it
cooked in the grill. This definitely developed in as the value of resourcefulness.

Recommendation
The researcher would like to recommend more study about solar and radiation
as using for cooking and accurate procedure.
