    10 Arrested for DWI during Sobriety Checkpoint and DWI Saturation Patrol

    The Independence Police Traffic Safety Unit conducted a sobriety checkpoint


    along US 24 Highway at Vassar while simultaneously conducting a DWI
    saturation patrol in that area. The saturation patrol began on Friday 4/23/10 at
    10:00 PM and ended on Saturday 4/24/10 at 4:00 AM. The checkpoint was
    operated from 12:45 AM to 2:15 AM. The entire operation was staffed by (20)
    officers.

    During the hours of operation, (88) cars were checked at the checkpoint and (55)
    cars were stopped during the saturation patrol with the following arrests and
    citations:

    (10) DWI (3) from checkpoint, (7) from saturation patrol


    (18) Hazardous Moving Violations
    (10) No Valid Driver License
    (18) Other Traffic Violations
    (7) Warrant Arrest
    (1) Felony Arrest
    (1) Drug Arrest
    (4) Other Arrests
