INTRODUCTION
Mergers and acquisitions (M&As) are most widely used
strategy by firms to strengthen and maintain their
position in the market place.
A majority of M&As fall short of their stated aims and
objectives.
One of the reason for failure are negligence of factors,
which are related to human resources issues and
activities.
There are numerous studies, which confirm the need for
firms to systematically address a variety of human
resource issues, activities, and challenges in their
merger and acquisition activities.

Recent M&A in Banks

OBJECTIVES
To study the role of HR during the merger or
acquisition process in the banking sector.
To identify how to manage the procedures of
M&A in banking sector from HR perspective
To identify the contribution of HR in
Managing the process.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Data will be collected from secondary sources
including, websites, journals and related
articles and write-ups.
Primary data will be collected through
questionnaires.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTION TO STUDY


The study will help to shed light on what are
the major issues that are faced by managers as
well as employees during the time of Mergers
& Acquisitions in banks.
It will help future managers to know how to
effectively manage employees during
organizational M&A and restructuring of
banks.

Location is only Mumbai
Only two banks
The period for research is only for two
months.
Employees may not fill the survey form
seriously
Lack of validity of the data
