UPPER LIMB ROTATOR MUSCLES TEST

Aim:

To test the craniomandibular system: mouth closed, clenched teeth,


arms in medial rotation (position 1).
To test the craniosacral system: mouth wide, arms in lateral rotation
(position 2).

Positions:

Patient stands. Practitioner stands behind.

Technique:
1- Mouth closed, clenched teeth, upper limbs abducted 90, hands
pronation, arms in medial rotation. The practitioner puts vertical
pressure on the elbows toward the ground. He evaluates the
muscular resistance.

2- Mouth wide open, hands in supination, arms in lateral rotation. The


practitioner puts vertical pressure on the elbows toward the ground.
He evaluates the muscular resistance.

Results:

A muscular weakness in position 1: temporomandibular joints


dysfunction.
A muscular weakness in position 2: craniosacral dysfunction.
