FEBRUARY, 2016

Dear 8th Grade Social Studies Teacher:

The Forest District Civic Association and the Northwest Buffalo Community Center Inc. are hosting the 4TH annual
American History Bee for 8th graders in Western New York. The event will take place at the The Buffalo History
Museum on Saturday April 23, 2016 at 2:00 pm, and is open to all eighth graders in the WNY area. Questions asked
will be based on the current New York State curriculum.

Enclosed are applications for the event; pre-registration is required and space is limited. There are prizes and
trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners and a trophy for the 1st place winners school and a pizza party for the
winners class.
Please note applications are due by April 15th.

Encouraging our youth to engage in their studies is a worthwhile endeavor. We hope that you will help us make this
event a success by encouraging your eighth grade students to participate. If you have any questions please contact
me at 884-5550 or email me at elmwoodprintpout@aol.com.
Thank you for your consideration.

Respectfully,
