Event AD
Description:

A color full-bleed event ad to promote a


fundraiser, using only Micosoft Word.

Objectives:

Find, scan nand import a high-quality image.


Create a full-bleed design. Use text boxes for
layout in Word. Insert and edit.

Process:

I really enjoyed the process of creating this


event ad. I scanned the image and then sized
it in Microsoft Word. This image had an old
texture look taht I wanted for my event ad to
look like. I added different boxes of color for
contrast and repettition. I used the space around
the AD to bring differntiation.

LOGOS
Description:
Three designed logos for the same company.

Objectives:

Create three logo variations to complement a


compant or personal usage. Use basic tools of
Illustrator.

Process:

I used the ellipse tool to create the designs of small


records. With the select tool I was able to made the
records curve around the text. I used the pencil tool
to create lines across the title to add an addition feel
of what the company vibe is. I also made sure to use
different typography that would contrast each other.

FLIER
Description:

Black & White promotional flier to promote a


graduate leadership conference.

Objectives:

Apply the design principles and use the right tyopgraphy.


Learn basic InDesign skills. Create a project foler with logo, image
and InDesign documents.

Process:

I began with sketching and went from there to


design the layout. I used gray boxes for contrast and repetition.
I also created contrast on the title to create a focal point for its
audience. I was privied with the content, image and logo for this flier.

BROCHURE
Description:
A three sided folding brochure.

Objectives:

Create and align a folded document. Use


paragraph styles in InDesign.

Process:

I created the gateway fold in Adobe


InDesign. My brochure folds in the front and
creates a three flap brochure with information in the back as well. In Photoshop I used
tools to edit my image. I used black bars
throughout the brochure to create flow and
repetition. I used the same color scheme
throughout the brochure.

MONTAGE
Description:

An uplifting montage created by the


blending of two or more images and
the use of typography.

Objectives:

Learn Photoshop layers. Learn to


blend images together smoothly by
using masks. Apply tyopgraphy.

Process:

I began by cropping two images to 8.5


x 11. I selected the forest background
as my main focus. I placed another
image and added a masking layer. I
was then able to blend my second image to the background. I used different
typography to create the overall message and flow.

PHOTODESIGN
Description:

A personally taken photograph that has been


formatted using Photoshop.

Objectives:

Learn basic photography skills. Use a


digitall camera to capture a quality image
and edit it in Photoshop. Size and crop the
image. Adjust contrast, brightness, saturation
hue levels. Desaturate the selected portion of
the image.

Process:

I took this picture using an old Canon camera.


I was pleased with the quality I was able to end
up with. I wanted my direction to be a slight
different and be perceived through a different
angle. I was able to crop my image and edit the
filter using Photoshop.

BUSINESS
CARD
Description:

Matching business card and letterhead using a


personally created logo.

Objectives:

Make a new logo to fit a company or personal image.


Create consistent layouts for a business card and
letterhead. Use the basic tools of InDesign and
Illustrator.

Process:

With the rectangle tool I was able to create the


front and back outline of my business card. I placed the
logo and contact onto one side of the page. I made the
logo different sizes on both the front and back to apply
focus for each side.

LETTERHEAD

Objectives:

Make a new logo to fit a company or personal


image. Create consistent layouts for a business
card and letterhead. Use the basic tools of InDesign and Illustrator.

Process:

I typed my contact information using the same


typography used in my business card and I
postioned it on the right hand side of the
letterhead. I also made my logo transparent to
unify the idea and focus behind the letterhead.
I kept the color scheme going to create flow and
repetition. I also made the text more legible.

Description:

Objectives:

Describe the proces of creating a logo and how


it aims to its audience. Design a web page using
HTML to showcase a logo and content.
Understand HTML and the basics of CSS.
Identify hex colors for web design. Attach one
file with compressing multiple files in a zipped
folder.

Process:

TextWrangler helped me create this web page.


To begin I attached my design and layout with
the pre-made CSS document. I found the colors
from my logo by using Photoshop and using
the eyedropper and attached everything to my
HTML.
