In the early 20s Perry Mcfadden had 15 thousand cattle in east Texas
This is mainly where League City is today
Tall grass was ideal for the longhorns
Butlers always picked big horned animals
Henry Butlers dad was one of the first to register Brahmans
During a period of time around 50,000 longhorns were shipped to Cuba
George Butler had his own slaughter house
Butler Color is often referred to the color of a white longhorn with orange ears
and speckled feet
5% of wrights cattle posses this type line of cattle
Butler bought 5 longhorns from Mexico with completely different bloodlines
Of the 5 only 2 survived but they gave birth to many of the better calves the
Butlers owned

Cattle had a bigger frame on them and different then the others

Butler had around 7 chain linked pastures that he rotated his animals through

This source was very in depth about a single longhorn family and allowed me to gain
insight of the first breeders of Texas Longhorns.
