Procedures

Preparation
Teacher will set up laptop and projector
Teacher will write down computer login information for
students
Materials distribution (10 minutes)
1. Teacher will call up students one at a time and have them
sign out a macbook/chomebook
2. Teacher will direct students to turn on and log on to the

computer and wait for further instructions.


Anticipatory set (15 min.)
1. Have students close their laptop computers and pay
attention to the projector.
2. Teacher will have ready a poor example of a Prezi
presentation and navigate through the page.
3. Next, teacher will ask students, What do you think of this
presentation? What makes this presentation unattractive?
Ineffective? Teacher will facilitate discussion while recording
responses on the board.
Direct Instruction
1. Distribute Presentation Evaluation Rubric to each student.
2. Teacher will verbally explain the various criteria as well as the
proficiency levels of each. Check for student understanding
by having students explain various criteria/proficiency levels
in their own words. (10 minutes)
3. Teacher will model the activity (below) by using the rubric to
evaluate the Prezi presentation discussed in the anticipatory
set. (10 minutes)
4. Instruct students to open up their computers and log on to
Prezi.com and search for a pre-made Prezi presentation of
their choice. Instruct students to write their name and the
title of the Prezi presentation at the top of the given rubric.
5. Explain to students that they will view the Prezi presentation
and evaluate it using the given rubric. Students should circle
the proficiency level of the presentation for each criterion
and write down a brief explanation in the right margin.
Guided practice
6. Allow students 20-25 minutes to complete the activity.
7. Teacher should walk around the room to ensure that students
stay on task and also to answer any questions students may
have.
8. Instruct students to turn their completed presentation
evaluation forms to the inbox
Closing
9. Instruct students to log off of their laptop computers.
Students must then shut down all computers and return them
to the mobile cart. Teacher will check that all laptops are
returned undamaged. (5 min.)

Next, distribute scratch paper to all students and
have them write down three things they learned about what
to look for in an effective Prezi presentation. This will be
handed to the teacher as an exit pass.
11.
Five minutes before the bell rings, have students

straighten up and clean the areas around them.
