Summary:
Lenny Samuel the main character in the story, was working as a freelance
private detective, when he got hired by Rik Roma -the head of Security in
Magic Movie Productions- and Samuels old friend, in order to protect Gail Lane
- the lead actress- from the threats that Homer Frank the owner of Magic
Movie Productions- were receiving against Miss Lane. During the investigation,
Lenny Samuel found out that somebody was trying to blackmail Gail Lane into
paying money for several photos in which she supposedly appeared with the
mobster Vincent Calab who was involved in money laundering, investing over
one billion dollars in the Franks studios with the idea of getting his money
back.
But when Vicent asked Homer Frank for the money, Homer didnt want to give
any money to him, and that was the reason why Vincent wanted to kill Gail
Lane: if she died, Homer Franks business would go bankrupt and Vincent would
get his own back. Therefore the true reason why Rick Roma hired Lenny
Samuel wasnt Gail Lanes safety because he didnt care about her he wanted
to keep her alive so that he could blackmail her.
At the end, Lenny Samuel found out Vincent Calab and Rik Romas plans, but
he forgave Rik for not telling the police about blackmailing so Lenny didnt got
paid so he just worked for free. At the end Gail Lane just thanked Lenny
Samuel and she left the movie business, went with her boyfriend the senator
and Lenny Samuel continued with his boring life.

Gail Lane is an important character in this story. She is a blonde woman
and the same actress Lenny was just watching at the movie in the
beginning.
Mike Devine, the son of a rich father; who was out of money and whose

Homer Frank, the movie studio boss, who finances his films with
gangsters money.
Vincent Caleb, the gangster who was using Frank's studio to launder
money, and who was Gail's friend when she was first in Hollywood
