Classes: no published schedule of classes, because hours change based on student needs
each semester; classes usually offered in morning, afternoon, and evening, but all classes
are not available at all times and in all parts of Austin; most classes meet 4 to 5 times
weekly, with very few classes meeting less times weekly
DESCRIPTION: Provides free adult basic education and GED preparation classes.
Classes are held throughout Austin based on availability and student enrollment, including at
ACC's Highland Business Center, Riverside, Rio Grande, Northridge, South Austin, and
Eastview campuses. This program partners with Literacy Austin, Austin Independent School
District, Austin Area Urban League, Austin Housing Authority, and Austin Public Library.

ELIGIBILITY: Any person living permanently in the US who has not finished high school and
is one of the following:
- 18 years old or older
- 17 years old with a copy of a withdrawal letter from the last school attended
- 16 years old with a copy of an official court order and a withdrawal letter from the last
school attended;
Students who have been home schooled or who have just moved to the area must obtain a
withdrawal form from the school in the area where they would have been required to
attend; B and F visas are NOT eligible for this program

DESCRIPTION: Provides free computer training, parenting skills training, adult basic
education, GED classes, and ESL classes. Includes an early childhood program for children
whose parents are in these classes. Classes are held from 8:30am - 2:00pm on Mondays
through Thursdays and some Fridays and Saturdays.

DESCRIPTION: Provides English Language (EL)/Civics Classes, designed to teach students
English reading, writing, and comprehension skills. Curriculum includes instruction in the
systems of US government, banking, education, immigration, and healthcare, and preparing
for the US citizenship test.

ACC's Highland Business Center, Riverside, Rio Grande, Northridge, South Austin, and

DESCRIPTION: Provides free family literacy and tutoring for children and adults in English
as a Second Language (ESL), Adult Basic Education, and other skills to help with basic
homework needs.
Free childcare is provided for ages 0-4. Children older than 4 participate in the program.
