1. Howdidyouspendyourtimethisweek?Whatresponsibilitiesdidyouhave?
Thisweek,IwasworkingonhowtogettheUShistoryinformationtomystudentsina
differentwaythanlecturingtothem.Iendedupusingalotmorereadingswithguiding
questions,andattheendoftheweek,Ihadthestudentsworkinginpairstofind
informationthatwouldberelevanttotheunit.Ineconomics,Ibecamemoreinvolved
withthestudentslearningbyhelpingthemunderstandthetopicthatwearediscussing.
2. Whatwereyourmostsatisfyingexperiences?Whatwereyourmostchallenging
experiences?
Mymostsatisfyingexperiencesthisweekwereallduringecon.Weareworkingonhow
differentfactorsaffectthecostsofproduction,andIwouldwalkaroundtheclasses
helpingstudentsattempttofillinthetablesthatwearehavingthemworkon.AsIhelped
thestudents,IlovedthelookofcomprehensionthatwouldcomeovertheirfacesasI
explainedsomethingjustalittlebitdifferently.Itwasextremelysatisfying.Mymost
challengingexperienceshadtodowithmyplanningforUShistory.Mydefaultistojust
lecturetothestudents,butIhavegivenseveralquizzes,andtriedtohavediscussions
withtheclasseswithfairlydisastrousresultsbecauseIhadjusttalkedatthem.Tryingto
getoutofthatmindsetisachallengethatIamworkingtoovercome.
3. Whataretheplansfortheupcomingweek?
Thisweek,IwillbefinishingupmyfirstunitinUSHistory,andgivingatestthatIam
currentlyinthemiddleofwriting.WearealsocomingtotheendoftheunitinEcon,and
wewillbegivingatestattheendofthisweek.
