Reflection on Weapons of Mass Distraction
Technology is engrained in every facet of our lives. From when we rise out of bed,
to when we lay back down hours later there is more than likely a phone or electronic
device in our hands, projecting some sort of music, listing off the latest happenings
around the world, or transporting the sultry tones of George Michaels Careless Whisper
into your ears. Regardless of whether or not its warranted, the overexposure of media to
all ages of the populace can be a real problem because it can lead to an extreme
overwhelming of the senses. If ones sense are constantly being bombarded, as showed
in Ray Bradburys Fahrenheit 451, then it makes having original and pure thoughts
practically impossible because the intrusiveness of the background distraction. Without
our own thoughts, who are we besides just projections of whatever society wishes for us
to be.
I try my hardest to keep educational content involved in my daily life, even
though, the occasional videogame play through slips in when I am in need of destressor. The important thing though, is that I try to still have informative and
sustentative conversations with people. A fear of mine that I have is that I will lose my
wittiness and sarcasm because of disuse. Those two things are pretty integral to who I
am as a person, so the last thing I want to do is allow them to slip away from me. Until

the day I die at the wonderful age of 689, the amount of bite in my words will never
cease and I will maintain as much concentration as I possibly can.
