A song I really dig called "tennessee" by Arrested Development was a commentary on racial injustice. It got me subconsciously analyzing biases in everyday life. It's annoying how people are so easily swayed through flashing pictures and catchy tunes.

Music appeals to pretty much everyone and its easy for people to get chords stuck in their heads. I realized a few days ago that a song I really dig called Tennessee by Arrested Development was a commentary on racial injustice. I had been singing it for years, but only just realized that throughout the video, there was vivid imagery of impoverished African-Americans; and, mentionings of both lynchings and slavery. Not only does it get me subconsciously analyzing biases in everyday life, but motivates me in a way, to work towards getting others to notice how skewed society is towards promoting certain ideals and attitudes depending on what is most beneficial to policymakers. Its annoying how people are so easily swayed through flashing pictures and catchy tunes. Slowly, actually relatively rapidly, Im losing what remaining hope I have left for the American people and their societal awareness.
