Fine Arts
The student is expected to: identify art elements such as
color, texture, form, line, space, and value and art principles
such as emphasis, pattern, rhythm, balance, proportion, and
unity in artworks.

MESOAMERICAN MASKS

LESSON OBJECTIVE
The students learned about Mesoamerican art
and its importance in the peoples everyday
lives. They created masks based on three
important animals in the Ancient
Mesoamerican culture; the quetzal, the jaguar
and the monkey, in preparation for playing an
Aztec ball game tournament. The masks were
colored in their teachers university mascot
colors.
