The YMCA is one of the largest non-profit organizations in the state. The organization
was founded in 1869 and incorporated under the laws of the Kingdom of Hawaii. Every year,
they serve more than 100,000 individuals in a variety of programs. The programs provided all
promote their core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Mililani YMCA has a wide range of services for the entire family. It is located in the heart
of Mililani, which is easily accessible. Located on the main road a block from Mililani Town
center where the bus frequently stops. To obtain a membership you may go online to register.
The cost per month ranges from $85.00 for the entire family to 23.00 for teens 13-18 years old.
The YMCA is accessible to everyone regardless of their ability to pay. They provide financial aid
to those who qualify. For example a single parent with a household income of $33,549 and below
may pay $44.00 a month for the entire family for the first year and $38.00 a month for the
second year. The YMCA program has many locations such as: Central on Atkinson Drive,
Kaimuki, Kalihi, Leeward in Waipahu, Nuuanu, Windward on Kailua Road, and Camp Erdman
in Wailua. The monthly fee allows you access to any of the listed locations.
The Mililani YMCA directly serves the Mililani Town, Mililani Mauka, Wahiawa and
Waipio communities. In addition, they serve the military community on Scholfield and expand to
Pearl City, Aiea, and Pearl City palisades via the A+ Program. The A+ program provides
structured after school care to school aged children, K-6th grade. Either at the YMCA with bus
transportation, or for some they remain at their school. This program runs throughout the school
year for $144/mo or $180/mo. Financial assistance is available to those who qualify.

A before school program is also available from 5:45am at several elementary schools.
Adult supervision is provided as they eat breakfast and participate in activities. The cost at
Mililani Mauka is $63/mo and at other locations $60/mo.
The YMCA Aquatics program offers group lessons for parent and tot ages 6-35 months.
This program is a water orientation class designed for parent and child participation. The class
encourages the bond and trust between parent and child and teaches parents how to guide and
supervise their children around the water. The child is exposed to basic movements. The aquatics
program also provides swimming lessons for the preschool age, adolescent ages and private
lessons for 3 years old to adults. They meet once a week for two months. The cost of this
program is $80.00 for family fitness members and non members cost is $100.00.
An introduction to a school setting is offered to children 18 months to years old, Kids
Club, at a teacher ratio of 1:5. This program is on Tuesday and Thursday, 9:30 to 11:30am. The
3 to 5 year old program, Kinder Time, has a ratio of 1:10 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
from 9:30 am 12:00pm. Both programs focus is on age appropriate activities and learning such
as building language, motor skills, social skills, self esteem, group play, and creativity. Both cost
$120.00 a month for members and $150.00 for non members per month.
As stated earlier the YMCA offers activities for all ages. The teens are able to join
summer programs or volunteer at the location to build leadership skills. YMCA also offers camps
for 1st to 12th graders, sports, dance, performing arts, judo, and fitness programs for all ages with
childcare if needed. Safe housing is also offered to college students and is located across of the
University of Hawaii.

development, and social responsibility. They are able to provide an activity for the entire family
that would support an active and healthier lifestyle to improve the health of all groups. YMCA
