The pictures I used to draw

Interests: Track has been an interest of mine for 7 years.

Im also interested in health and fitness, and the way
your body works.
Concerns: We all take our lives for granted, we need to
live in the moment and be thankful we are here. The first
picture I drew, I wanted to enunciate the feeling runners
have in the blocks.
Purposes: I pretty much drew this for my friend Olivia
who is constantly struggling with a positive body image
being a sprinter and I wanted to express how beautiful
and strong her body is, along with every other woman.

William Kentridge
In a now-signature technique, Kentridge photographs his
charcoal drawings and paper collages over time, recording
scenes as they evolve. Working without a script or storyboard,
he plots out each animated film, preserving every addition and
erasure.

My work is about the provisionality of the moment, http://

Kentridge was my main inspiration for this project, thanks to
Peter and Mad for the idea. I wanted my first drawing to
emphasize the moment before you jump out of the blocks for
your race. Theres a special feeling that I dont think you can
experience any other way. His work was intricate and focused
on each moment.

Margaret Kilgallen
I like things that are handmade, and I like to see
peoples hand in the world, anywhere in the world;
it doesnt matter to me where it is. And in my own
work, I do everything by hand. I dont project or
use anything mechanical, because even though I
do spend a lot of time trying to perfect my line
work and my hand, my hand will always be
imperfect because its human.

One of her purposes for making art was to

inspire young women to work and to be
independent because there is too much
emphasis on being pretty and skinny. We
should care more about what a women can
do and not about what she looks like. A
women can be independent. Women inspire
her.
