POSITION: Seventh Deputy-Deduction/Exemption Clerk

WORK SCHEDULE: M-F,
8:00am-4:00pm
JOB CATEGORY: COMOT (Computer Office Machine Operation Technician)
DUTIES:
*Receive and process applications for property tax deductions and exemptions.
Verifies eligibility requirements, complete the necessary forms on the computer,
scan information in appropriate files on the computer.
*Enter all deduction and exemption records on the computer. Review printouts for
errors and corrections as necessary.
*Maintain and update computer records on deduction and exemption changes, such
as deaths or released mortgages.
*Prepare certificates of credit for license plates for veterans.
*Answer phones and assist the public at the counter; answer questions concerning
property records and deductions and provide direction in locating proper
departments or assistance.
*Perform related duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIRMENTS:
*High school diploma or equivalent.
*Knowledge of standard office procedures and routines and ability to apply office
skills for proper completion and maintenance of tax deductions and exemptions.
*Working knowledge of legal regulations concerning tax deductions and exemptions
and ability to apply regulations and requirements to specific cases.
*Ability to use standard office equipment, such as computer, calculator, copier and
scanner.
*Ability to effectively communicate orally with co-workers, other County
departments and the general public, including being sensitive to professional ethics,
gender, cultural diversities and disabilities.
*Ability to work several tasks at the same time and complete assignments
effectively midst frequent distractions and interruptions.
*Ability to perform duties in standard office environment with no unusual physical
demands.
