Class Management/Rules
Unless explicitly told otherwise, I should not see any cell phones out in class. (there will
be times when listening to music will be allowed, if you are disrupting those around you,
while we are doing group work in class)
Food and water will be allowed, but if it becomes a problem, the instructor reserves the
right to revoke this privilege
Do not use profane language or actions in the classroom
Absolutely NO cheating!
All other rules of the student handbook will be followed
Late Work
Work given in this class is all assigned with learning value in mind. To promote this,
assignments will be accepted for partial credit when turned in late. Instructor will use discretion
as to length of tardiness as well as thoroughness of work. All assignments with sufficient
effort/completeness will receive at least 50%. Assignments from each unit may be turned in up
until the day of that units test, in an effort to promote thorough understanding of each units
material.
Absences
Excused absences
o Students will be given as many days to make up work as absences excused. For
example, if two days of absence were excused, the student would have two days
after returning to complete missed work. However, excused absences do not
provide additional time for work that was due on the first day of absence. In other
words, if Monday and Tuesday were excused absences, work due Monday must
be turned in on Wednesday upon the students return. All excused absence work
turned in within the allowed make-up period will receive full credit.
Unexcused absences
o If the students absence is not excused by the school, any work turned in after the
initial due date will be considered late work.
Please sign, have your parent/guardian sign, and return the acknowledgement below to me by no
later than Friday
