Please add specific comments about the student teachers observed strengths during this
teaching practicum and identify areas in which you feel further development is
necessary.
Observed Strengths: /

Great job introducing the lesson as well

explaining the class rules and
consequences.
The instructions were clear
The video was kids friendly and the
students appear to have enjoyed it.
You are very patient and kind to the
students. It shows that you are
passionate about teaching.
It was an excellent ideas asking someone
from the audience to repeat what the
speaker said to ensure they all were
listening.

Areas in which further development is needed:

Questions must be clear and focus. For example,

what did you learn from the video? This question is
too broad. The teacher must direct the students
attention based on the objectives of the lesson.
Must listen to students comments. For instance, a
boy commented, they didnt show the desert. He
needed to understand that there are many different
types of habitat. Provide additional comments to
students answer especially when you complement
the answer as excellent.
Definition must be age friendly. The natural home
or environment of an animal, plant, or any other
organism contains too many words students may
not be too familiar with.
Whole class instructions was too long.
Students must explore the concept of a lesson to
some form of activity.
The students didnt appear to understand the story
telling activity.
10:55 the activity started
Having a writing assignment as a group activity is a
difficult task. Hence, most of the students did not
participate.
The MST and the teachers were providing too much
help for the students to complete the task.
