Materials/Resources/Technology Needs: Computer ____________________________________________________________________________ Instructional Procedures Focusing Event: Discuss the importance of educating others about diseases. Have students individually write down information for their disease from the project. Teaching/ Learning Procedures: 1. Students will separate into their project groups and discuss/gather the information they have learned about their disease so far. 2. Students will pick two ambassadors to represent their group. These students will be responsible for educating their classmates on their assigned disease. 3. The students who are not ambassadors will be touring the classroom to gather info about the other diseases. 4. Students will meet again to discuss the info learned from the other groups. Formative Check (ongoing or specific): question students on understanding throughout the lesson, monitor students as they complete task. Reteach (alternative used as needed): Create a PowerPoint with the information about each disease. Closure: 7 question quiz for formative assessment.
