Instructional Procedures
Focusing Event: Discuss An Inconvenient Truth documentary and review what was discussed about climate change so far
Teaching/ Learning Procedures:
1. Students will separate into groups and evaluate different pieces of data (hottest years, carbon dioxide concentration, sea
surface temperature, etc.)
2. Students will argue how the data supports climate change
Formative Check (ongoing or specific): question students on understanding throughout the lesson, monitor students as they
complete task.
Reteach (alternative used as needed): Create a PowerPoint with the information about climate change
Closure: Have students list the 10 signs of a warming world discussed last week
Assessment/Summative Evaluation: Unit test
