Describe the community service/professional activity/s you attended or participated with (be
specific about the purpose and your role):
Second semester students practice removing sutures from suture practice kits. The kits are
reusable so evet in the SILC has 4th semester students the complete sutures. Materials were
provided and the sutures were completed at home. Evet then provided the sutures to second
semester facility and the students were able to practice removing sutures.

Where was this held and what was was program/activity length?
Materials and instructions where obtain in the SILC. Further instructions where obtained
at home by watching a video on YouTube as directed by evet. This activity was completed at my
home over a 4 hour period.

Discuss the value of this experience to you (be specific).

Would you recommend this specific communnity/professional experience in the future; why or
why not? (Describe)
I would recommend this community experience in the future because it allowed me to
complete professional experience hours from home during a busy time of the semester. In
addition to aiding the instructors, evet, and second semester students, the experience of learning
the process of suturing and practicing the technique was educational. It was interesting and one
day I hope to be able to suture a patient.
