Subject: Food Waste Reduction on UMD Campus

Audience
The primary audience for our proposal is the Director of Dining
Services, Colleen Riva. We choose Ms. Riva to be our primary audience
because she is the top of the food chain, she is the one who will be
able to implement change. She will also encourage our secondary
audience, students and faculty on campus, to take part in this change.

Format
The format we will use for this proposal is an interactive website. We
decided this would be the best format to use because its quick and
easy to access and our proposal would never be lost as opposed to a
paper copy.

Purpose
The purpose of this proposal is to convince the audience that the issue
of food waste on campus is prevalent, but fixable. The proposal will
describe the evaluative analysis of the campus dining halls and how
they are the roots to our issue. As well as the goals our group has
come up with to reduce/end food waste on campus.

Visual Element
Our visual element will be a combination of things to really appeal to
all types of readers. We will include a website that will include graphs
and charts of the survey we distributed on campus. We will also include
flow charts that show relation of the big picture of the consequences
we found.
