OBLIVIOUS
A film like no other
Star: Leisha Burnett

Director: Brooke Selley

Certificate: 15
Running time:

03/01/2016

Even though oblivious lasts for only 5

minutes, the moral of the story shines
through. One thing that is so likeable
about this film is relevance to modern life
and day to day issues that it entails. Not
many film companies take on real life issues due to criticism but by oblivious is
made to relate and there is no need to
criticise a well-made film with a moral
behind it.
Overall I think this short film is one to
watch as it is an amazing short film made
by only a group of young students. But, be
ready for huge tension builders.

Make-up, social media, phones and shoes

may seem to be taking over teenage girls
more than ever, but Oblivious takes it to a
new level.
When Oblivious shows how Danni is trying
to find the best selfie to put on to Instagram, it turns into a tweet followed by shopping to ensure that her selfie at least gets
100 likes. But, her self obsession starts to get
the better of her in an unusual way.
This short film reflects how obsessed we are
about self-image and how that obsession ultimately possess and destroys us through
the character of Danni. Danni acts as a symbol of every young girl in this generation as
she becomes to egoistic wanting to make
sure that she looks perfect.

VERDICT
A thrilling psychological horror film,
building unexpected tension to make
your palms sweat. Making it a film
not to miss.
