Proposal Reflection

The proposal was one of the easiest portions of the project for me; however, my initial thoughts
of being informed that a proposal was a requirement for the inquiry project was crap, I forgot
how to write a proposal! Luckily for me, provided was the structure and the format of the
proposal. Initially I had chosen to explore the topic of Religion vs Spirituality: How Spirituality
Aids in the Process of Self Discovery Where Religion Does Not. Although I think exploring that
topic, with its very long title, would have been enlightening, it was not a topic that I truly wanted
to explore. My new topic came about in the midst of me reading Spirituality: What It is and Why
It Matters by Gottlieb. By the time I reached chapter three of the book, I realized that what I
really wanted to explore was the connection between spirituality and yoga, and how the two aid
in the process of self-discovery. I wanted to explore that topic because, for a long time, I have
been curious about the significance of both yoga and spirituality. I figured this project would be
the perfect opportunity to take advantage of learning about spirituality and yoga, and beginning
my process of self-discovery.
SLO: The SLO that goes with the proposal would be KNOWLEDGE OF CONVENTIONS.
This proposal required me to follow the formal rules and informal guidelines that defined it.
There was a format that I followed in order to properly compose my proposal. I had to
convince my audience that the topic that I chose was a topic that I can handle exploring. I had
to cite a few sources that I would use for the project.
