Researchers are seeking healthy men and women ages 18-45 to participate in a 4-week study investigating the effects of blood flow restriction training and electrical muscle stimulation on leg strength and stability. The time commitment is 16 hours over 4 weeks. Participants will receive a $25 gift card. Interested individuals should contact Courtney White.

WHO: Young (18-45 years old), healthy men and women WHAT: Researchers in the department of Human Health and Nutritional Sciences are investigating the effect of using blood flow restriction (BFR) training for improving the strength and stability of leg muscles during low intensity exercises commonly employed in a rehabilitation setting. The effect of BRF training will also be investigated during electrical muscle stimulation. TIME COMMITMENT: 4 weeks (16 hours) Testing visits (2 hours x 3) Training visits (30 min/day x 5 days/week x 4 weeks = 10 hours) BENEFITS: Knowledge of personal fitness and cardiovascular variables COMPENSATION: Gift card - $25 The researchers wish to be inclusive in their recruitment. This project requires: i. Interaction one on one with a female researcher ii. You will be required to wear athletic clothing with loose fitting shorts iii. If for any reason you may feel uncomfortable taking part, please contact the researcher to discuss possible modifications to address your concerns If you are interested, please contact Courtney White (cwhite09@mail.uoguelph.ca) Email: Courtney White cwhite09@mail.uoguelph.ca
