HOUSE JOB ISSUES

1.

Not a single hospital in Punjab is having 6 months rotation

of house job.
2. PMDC recommendations are also in favour of 6 rotations in
1 year of foundation year.
3. In ALLIED & DHQ total seats of surgery are 56 and of
medicine are 59 (total 115) & they will rotate mutually after
6 months. So no exposure of other house officers in these
major wards.
4. Those of low merit working in minor wards will continue to
work for 6 month in same ward. Which is simply waste of
time as no experience is gained.
5. While graduates of private medical colleges have open
choice to go anywhere after 3 months as they have no issue
of paid seat.
6. If the admin is of opinion that they are busy and have no
time for reallocating house job seats after every 3 months,
then there is an option that schedule of whole year can be
made at the start of foundation year and followed entire year
(examples of MEYO & JINNAH HOSPITAL)
7. In case of mutual migration after 3 months, no merit will
be followed & those of higher merits will suffer.
8. As the choice of FCPS training is made in house job,
exposure to multiple departments expands our options.
9. Not all the graduates will do FCPS, some them will work in
periphery as general practitioners, where 50-60 percent
patients are of Paeds and CCU. How a doctor will be able to
manage these cases.

10. If someone wants to go abroad (e.g. Ireland or UK) they

demand 6 months experience of medicine & allied and 6
months of surgery & allied.
So,
Kindly fresh applications should be called for the next
3 months rotation starting from 1st of October 2014 &
new merit list should be displayed.
House job experience of first 2 months (from 1st may
to 30th June) should also be counted.
