- Hurricanes Michaela Stankavich

Tropical Storm?
Tropical Storm: A localized, very intense
low-pressure wind system, forming over
tropical oceans and with winds of hurricane
force.

What Is A Hurricane?
Well, other than being a really good song
by one of my favorite bands, a
Hurricane is a storm with some really
violent winds in a tropical cyclone.

U.S.A Hurricane Season

The U.S.A has a hurricane season that
lasts, mainly, from June to November.
However they can happen out of
season too.

The Hurricane Recipe.

First, the ocean waters must be warm enough at
the surface to put enough heat and moisture
into the atmosphere.
Second, moisture from the sea water
evaporation must combine with heat and
energy to form the powerful engine needed to
rotate a hurricane.
Lastly, a wind pattern must be near the ocean
surface to spiral air inward, and there you go
a Hurricane :D
Note: Heavy Rain is involved as well.

Classified Info.
Hurricanes are classified using the SaffirSimpson Scale. That Scale looks at.

Wind speed
Damage level
Storm surge
And pressure

What The Heck Is A Storm Surge O.o

?
Storm Surge: An offshore rise of
water associated with a low
pressure weather system,
an offshore rise of water associated
typically
cyclones
and
with atropical
low pressure weather
system,
typically tropical cyclones and strong
strongextratropical
extra tropical
cyclones.

Costliest Hurricanes

3. Katrina (2005)
Cost: Estimated
4. Ivan (2004)
Cost: Estimated
5. Fran(1996)

at $100 million.
at $1 billion .
at $81billion .
at $7 billion or higher.
at $5 billion.

Deadliest.
1. Great Hurricane of 1780
Dead: Well over 25,000people.
2. Hurricane Mitch (1998)
Dead: Over 19,000 people.
3. Hurricane Fifi (1900)
Dead: 8,000 10,000 people.
4. Dominican Republic Hurricane (1930)
Dead: Between 2,000 and 8,000 people.
5. Hurricane Flora (1963)
Dead: Between 7,186 and 8,000 people.

Older = Deadliest
Newer = Costliest ?
Due to new systems and technology,
we can now better prepare for,
detect, and predict hurricanes. Way
back when. They couldnt do that.
So, the older hurricanes were the
most deadly, and the newer ones
cost more.
Better broke then dead

One Fact About Me.

I like many different
types
of music, and can most
often be found listening
to
it at any given time in
the
day.
