Anthony F. Lucas was born on September 9th 1855.He was born at Spalato Austria on
the Dalmation Coast.He graduated at the age of 20 from the Polytechnic Institute.He
entered the Naval Academy in Austria.At the end of the year he decided to remained in
the United States and changes his name to Lucas as his uncle had done before him.Oil
gushed out of Spindletop hill on January,10th 1901.From 1893 to 1996 Lucas
superintended salt mineing operations for a New Orleans company.What would have
had happend if oil wouldnt have been discovered?We would have found oil later or
someone else would have found it.Oil was found with a darik that drilled hundreds of
feet into the ground.Spindletop hill is in Beaumont,Texas.How might oil be found in the
future?Oil could be found in the future with a long tube that sucks up the oil.
