8th GRADE SPANISH PORTFOLIO

You will be making a portfolio of what you have learned in Spanish I and
Intro to Spanish II here at WFS. This will be a great resource for you to take
with you to high school. The 10 required entries for the Portfolio are listed
below. All entries should be typed.
1. Present Tense Verbs
Create a present tense verb chart. Include:
a. 1 regular AR verb
b. 1 regular ER verb
c. 1 regular IR verb
d. Irregular verbs: ser, estar, ir, jugar, tener
2. Questions Words
a. Define what each of these questions words mean:
1.) Qu?
6.) De dnde?
2.) Cmo?
7.) Cul?
3.) Quin?
8.) Por qu?
4.) Dnde?
9.) Cundo?
5.) A dnde?
10.) Cuntos?
b. Create an interrogative sentence for each question word. Provide
the English translation for each sentence.
3. Present Progressive Tense Verbs
a. Explain how to form the present progressive
b. Create a list of 3 AR verb present participles
(ex. hablar --> hablando)
c. Create a list of 3 ER verb present participles
(ex. comer --> comiendo)
d. Create a list of 3 IR verb present participles
(ex. vivir ---> viviendo)
e. Write three sentences using the present progressive tense
4. SER vs. ESTAR
a. Create a chart explaining the difference in how the verbs SER and
ESTAR are used. (Remember: D.O.C.T.O.R. & W.E.L.C.H.)
b. Create an sentence for each use of SER and ESTAR

5. Telling Time
Write these times and then write how to say each one in Spanish. Include
the Spanish for AM/PM where indicated.

6. Giving Commands
a. Explain how to create the affirmative t command
b. Provide 5 affirmative t commands with AR verbs

7. Preterit Tense Verbs
Create a preterit tense verb chart. Include:
a. 1 regular AR verb
b. 1 regular ER verb
c. 1 regular IR verb
d. Irregular rregular verbs: ir, hacer, dar, buscar, pagar, jugar
8. D.O. & I.O. Pronouns
a. Create a chart with the Direct Object Pronouns
b. Write a sentence in Spanish using each direct object pronoun and
then provide an English translation of the sentence.
c. Create a chart with the Indirect Object Pronouns
d. Write a sentence in Spanish using each indirect object pronoun and
then provide an English translation of the sentence.
9. Numbers 100-1000
a. Create a listing of Spanish vocabulary (by tens) for 10-100
b. Create a listing of Spanish vocabulary (by hundreds) for 100-1000
